Eight Sleep has changed my life. No more waiting 2 hours to go to sleep because I'm so hot. The customer service has been great when I've had issues. Was the best money I've ever spent. Enjoyed the last 4 years of great sleep!

Purchased a mattress and it stopped working/ is malfunctioning after 3 years. Warranty has passed and support says there’s nothing they can do and I need to buy a replacement. It doesn’t track my sleep anymore and the temperature will randomly turn extremely hot in the middle of the night even though that’s not what I set it on and have autopilot off. It’s so hot it wakes me up (especially terrible because it’s summer and there’s a heat wave) and it won’t cool down unless I unplug it. This has made my sleep quality worse as it interrupts my sleep.

Absolute game changer for my sleep. Invest in yourself and get this product. I’m always overheating at night, year round, and since using the 8 sleep for the past year I’ve had the best sleeping patterns in my life. Buy it!

Similar to other reviews, I’ve really enjoyed the product itself, it works well and we see an impact on how we sleep. What drives the 2 star revenue is the trend of more and more features being shifted to behind their membership. I understand the need for recurring revenue to sustain development and their analytics, which the business will point to. However, I’ve been disappointed to see core features (that don’t require ongoing development) being locked behind the membership. I was in the process of recommending an eight sleep to someone when I realized the ‘alarm’ feature is now behind a pay wall. The core product without a membership is now just a temperature controlled mattress (which there are alternatives at more competitive price points). It is clear that the future of technology is over the air updates with maintained R&D, and a recurring model is needed to support this. I agree with the need for recurring revenue but I disagree with having it both ways. Charging a marketing leading price for a product and then a subscription is akin to ‘double-dipping’. For example, in the sleep space, whoop limited the up-front cost and relies on the monthly recurring revenue. On the other hand, oura ring has a high upfront cost (and now has a modest monthly change, which I have similar reservations about). If you want to increase what is behind the membership and shift to that model, as a consumer I’d expect the price gets lowered on the upfront hardware. I understand I only have my perspective and I’m sure there are pressures as a growing company with anxious investors in a space with limited capital, but at the same time it’s exhausting to believe in a product and have fundamental disagreements with the pricing strategy. I will note, I’ve appreciated all my interactions with everyone at Eight Sleep. I think it’s a great company. TLDR: Product is great, don’t love the pricing changes. It makes it hard to recommend the product since so much of the product is now behind the membership. RE: I think you've missed the crux of my review, it is not about the need of the membership or the constant innovation it drives. It focuses on that previous features, which are more 'core' to the product, being put behind the pay wall. If there are innovations that the membership is funding, I see no problem with those features being behind the paywall as they are released. Again, this is just one person's opinion.

Amazing... while it lasted. Our first mattress leaked but it was within the warranty period so they replaced it. The second mattress lasted a while longer but cleaning up a second leak as we speak. Second mattress now ruined. It's really disappointing because we really loved the temperature control, especially for me in the cold winter nights. But it's not worth the thousands to keep replacing it or the headache.

Finally a Great Night's Sleep Two Weeks in a Row For years I have been troubled by insomnia, despite implementing all of the sleep hygiene best practices that I learned as a physician, and recommend to my patients. Finally I have found the solution in the Eight Sleep System. Not only has the system enabled me to have a good night's sleep for two weeks in a row, it continuously fine tunes my regimen, delivered by the mattress cover, to increase my Deep Sleep and REM sleep times, and the overall quality of my sleep. I think I first saw about eight Sleep before the Pod existed, and I considered sleeping tracking an exciting approach in helping people understand their Sleep. I keep Eight Sleep on my bucket list of things that I want to try. Around 2019, I moved to live with my partner and started experiencing a lot more hot Sleep, shaking the blanket in the middle of the night to cool off, and feeling sleepy during the day. I started looking up and cooling solutions; sheets, blankets, weird bed fans, and then I saw the Pod. It took a bit longer to get Eight Sleep Pod Pro as I knew I would be moving. Finally, in 2021, I moved to Colorado and immediately ordered the Pod. Within the first week, I was able to sleep significantly more through the night. Now keep in mind, the Pod Pro comes with a 100-night trial, and the cost of itself is substantial; temperature is extremely important for me, but I needed to know my back wouldn't start hurting after switching from the Nectar mattress. Eight Sleep Pod Pro Max is softer than standard Nectar Mattress, and I think it is the perfect firmness for a typical sleeper. At the time of this review, I had the Pod Pro Max for over four months, and here are some things I like and don't - Alarm system is the best; you can wake up without waking up your partner If you wake up in the middle of the night and keep your room cold and your Pod is in a cold setting, you will miss the traditional feeling of getting inside of a warm bed in the middle of the night. I recommend keeping your room a degree or two higher than usual. -If you like big and heavy comforters like down or down-alternative but easily overheat, Pod will allow you to love them. -Priming system where you fill the system with distilled water takes a bit of time; I had to fill it about two months ago; however, the system told me it needed water right before I was going to bed, and Priming mode can be noisy, but it only needs to happen every two months or so for 30 mins to an hour. -Sleep metrics are helpful to see how you slept affects your following day. I like the information provided through the app and how to interpret the data. Eight Sleep good work to tell people to compare their data against themselves instead of each other because two people sleep differently. -As a software engineer myself, I love continuous improvements to the app and Pod itself. However, I encountered some bugs, and I wasn't sure how to restart the system to clear the issues out. I took a random guess and pressed the buttons in the back, which helped restart the system. One morning, my phone wouldn't connect to the Pod, and I couldn't stop the alarm, so I had to restart. This restart/reset process wasn't mentioned in the manual or app. I hope this information is stated in the app so, in the case of issues, it can be resolved quickly without frustration Lastly, Pod is expensive, but your health is priceless seriously; if you want to sleep better, try it out for a month and see if it helps. Eight Sleep made love going to bed again.
